The Sultanate of Oman has identified aquaculture as one of the key pillar to diversify its national economy. Together with the food security strategy, Aquaponics becomes a perfect solution to develop a sustainable, competitive and environment-friendly sector that meets the needs of customers from both high quality aqua products and safe vegetables.

Sangreen is honored to build one of the biggest Aquaponics Greenhouse in the region for our client (Bahwan) in Oman. This state of art project is located in Barka, Oman, with total area of 30,000 sqm. Sangreen provides the total solution of supplying vegetable growing greenhouse, fishing house, service room, office building, and VIP reception room.

This project adopts the most advanced aquaponics and greenhouse technologies, which could maximize yields while minimizing water usage and energy consumption. Aquaponics is the combination of aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (the soil-less growing of plants) that grows fish and plants together in one integrated system. The fish waste provides an organic food source for the plants, and the plants naturally filter the water for the fish.

This project is currently in the final stage of equipment installation and commissioning. It will be one of the largest aquaponics greenhouse projects in the Gulf countries when it is completed.
